UNIFEI’s Undergraduate Program in Mechanical Engineering offers, in its curriculum, a strong foundation in mathematics and physics, a broad education in Mechanical Engineering and extension in social and human sciences, with integration between theory and practice in laboratories of excellence.

Students graduating from this program should be able to apply their knowledge of mathematics, science, techniques, skills, and engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.

It is also their competence to design and conduct experiments, analyze and interpret data; design systems, components, or processes to meet desired needs; identify, formulate and solve engineering problems; among other abilities, such as work on multidisciplinary teams, understand and apply professional and ethical responsibility, and understand the impact of engineering solutions in its global, economic, environmental, and societal context.

Graduates in Mechanical Engineering will be able to work in areas such as Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Combustion, Thermodynamics and Energy Systems, Mechanical Design, System Dynamics and Control, Manufacturing and Transportation Systems.
