Methods, Processes and Product Engineering aiming to integrate and optimize production factors.

It complements a professional Engineer’s training in the area of processing, generation, transmission, distribution and end use of energy, as well as to provide a foundation for the development of scientific research within the Program’s areas.


UNIFEI’s Master’s Degree Program in Energy Engineering seeks to meet Engineering professionals’ need to enhance their technical and academic training in several areas, including processing, generation, distribution and end use of energy.

It is composed of methods and techniques that may be applied to all activity types in the primary, secondary or service sectors; however, their implementation happens mainly in the industry and in the services sector. It focuses on technical aspects related to energy, without ignoring the constraints surrounding it, so that the solutions reached may find real feasibility.

The Program’s activities are organized in subjects, seminars and orientation for research and scientific dissertation, preparing innovative specialists who may contribute to solving current problems in several energy areas, including management of resources’ supply and demand, conversion technologies, energy transmission and distribution, environmental impacts, energetic conversion of waste, thermodynamic efficiency, economy and rational use of energy and sustainability.

Concentration Areas | Research Lines

Energy, Society and Environment: this research line includes the following themes s: sustainability assessment and Life Cycle analysis; energy, water and enviromental resources; conversão energética de resíduos. Environment evaluation.

Energy systems: includes the following themes: renewable energy sources; hydroelectric generation and small hydropower plants; and thermoelectric generation, cogeneration and distributed generation. Advanced studies on the potential of biomass and cogeneration, fuel cells, wind power, photovoltaic systems, among others.

Planning and Management of Energy Systems: includes the following themes:: energy efficiency; monitoring, management and regulation of energy systems; energy planning; oil and natural gas.
